| SCUVA
stands for Self Controlled Underwater Video Apparatus, a new
form of diving available to anyone regardless of health, swimming
ability, or age. Anyone can now dive the ocean depths up to
300 feet in the comfort of a boat or from shore, with no time
duration, decompression, hypothermia, or exertion. The SCUVA
unit is all that actually enters the water. This totally controllable
system feeds the video signal to your monitor on the surface
and puts you right there. You are in complete control of the
dive! |
| |
| A
revolutionary design makes the SCUVA unit incredibly easy
to control. Traditional ROVs are extremely hard to operate and
require lots of training and experience. The problem with the
typical ROV is that all the angles of thrust make things very
complicated especially in a current. The SCUVA unit employs
a uniglobular directional thrust system to achieve one angle
of thrust that propels the craft in whatever direction you are
looking. Acquiring your target becomes a natural action, loitering
on station and re-acquiring has never been easier. Beginners
can handle the craft after only a few hours training.
|
 |
|
| With
the uniglobular system, SCUVA has no front or back, allowing
the craft to "fly" in any direction. A single thruster
with kort nozzle has a video camera mounted on it's nose. This
unique assembly can then rotate in the vertical axis 180 degrees
and the horizontal axis 360 degrees. This combination allows
the SCUVA pilot to easily seek out and find whatever the
underwater target may be. |

The
remote-controlled video vehicle consists of a variable speed
control bi-directional motor, video camera, 180-degree vertical
tilt servo, horizontal bi-directional servo, power module, eight-function
main module, buoyancy chambers with all associated cables and
connectors, and 100-feet of neutrally buoyant umbilical cord.
A surface power distribution module sends power, video, and
control signals to their proper destinations. The two-joystick
surface controller is included. SCUVA can be used with
any VCR, television, monitor, and - as a modular system - can
be configured, upgraded, or re-configured for a variety of tasks.
Each module is waterproof and pressure-rated to 300 feet, and
functions in underwater temperature from the arctic to the tropical. |
Incredibly,
SVS can also offer the SCUVA system for substantially
less than any ROV on the market.
Basic systems start at under $4000! |
